Hello everyone, I'm back with another lil' post; this time I'm going to be chatting about my hat collection. Woo! I'm constantly getting questions about where my hats are from, or how many I have, or why I wear one like, everyday, so I thought I'd ease some minds with this post. :] (I know you were SUPER curious.)
To start out, my hat collection is based mostly on function, how often I wear them, and of course, style. Throughout the years I have let a lot of hats go just to narrow down which ones I can, and will get, the most use out of. Even so, every time I come across a new, better, more functional hat, I'll USUALLY get rid of one I currently have that I do not wear as much, just to keep my collection under control. Right now, I currently have 7 hats. This collection includes two lieutenant caps, 1 straw hat, and 4 wool, wide-brimmed, fedoras.
Furthermore, to be real honest, I love wearing hats because they mostly just keep my hair out of my face. Also, I feel like adding a hat, wether it be to a minimal outfit, or a busy outfit, keeps that 'fit looking super put-together. Now that that introduction is out of the way, here's my cutie hat collection.
1. Lieutenant caps

This black lieutenant cap with gold hardware, paired with roping detail around the front, was free for me, of course. For this, I traded an older lieutenant cap I already had, and upgraded to this one instead not too long ago. The brand of this one is "D&Y" which stands for "David and Young". I love this hat because it is structured around the crown of my head, so it fits really well, and stays in its place.

This lieutenant cap I received for free as well; definitely traded in some old items to get this beauty. The body of this hat is light blue made from canvas, while the brim is a light brown, made from faux suede material. I like the type of juxtaposition these two fabrics display while I'm wearing it. This hat is a little different from my black one above, the base of the hat is not structured, so when styling it, I feel it is best to pair it with clothing items that reap a similar none-structured feel such as dresses, free-flowing blouses, non-fitted pants, etc.
2. Straw hat

This cute lil' straw hat I actually got from my local Salvation Army for about $2. I had been looking for a straw hat that was comfortable on my head for forever, but since it is not a piece that I would wear everyday, I did not want to spend a significant amount on money on it and plus, I knew one would pop up soon at a local thrift! This hat has no tag or brand name on it, so I'm not sure where it came from. However, I love it because the brim is super structured and not too wide, so it does not take over my face. Yay for my straw hat!
3. Wide-brimmed fedoras

This first fedora I bough from Nordstrom a few years back from a gift-card my lovely parents bought for me, thanks Mom and Dad! This hat is by "AMC Accessories" and is a taupe color with black trimming. Of course, this hat has a structured fit and brim, which is exactly how I like all of my wide-brimmed fedoras to be!

This next fedora was "free" as well, I traded this hat while I was living in Arizona. This one is 100% wool, and made by the brand "Twister." I love this hat because it is olive green (my favorite color to wear) around the brim and body, with brown trimming. I've seen hats similar to this one go for $70-$100 on the Free People website (my favorite store), so I was happy to pick this one up by just trading a few of my older clothing items in.

Now this hat is not as good of quality as the rest of my fedoras, but nonetheless, it is still one of my favorites. I got this hat from Forever 21, with a gift-card my parents sent me for my birthday this past year; once again, thanks Mom and Dad! I love this hat because of the trimming on it; egg-shell ribbed ribbon on the top, with brown faux suede tying the look together on the bottom. The body and brim of this hat is a mauve color, so a little different than the taupe color hat above. So far i've had this hat for about 9 months and it has held up, so, go Forever 21!

Finally, everyone needs a basic black fedora in their wardrobe! This one I traded to get as well so, as you may have guessed, it cost $0 for me. The brand of this hat is "SS" or "Something Special." As you can see, this is an all black hat with brown trimming. I love this hat because I can throw it together with any outfit because of its coloring, so it's super easy to style!
And there you have it, my hat collection. Short but sweet, and still on the lookout for more that I do not already have represented in my collection!
xoxo
